There are many reasons to purchase a lifetime subscription to the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read app. Here are just a few:

  1. It allows your child to go at his or her own pace and not worry about completing the lessons before the subscription expires.
  2. You have the app forever and you can install on as many as 3 different devices using the same account.
  3. It’s perfect for families with multiple children who are at different reading stages. Rather than rush your younger child to finish the lessons before the subscription expires, the app will be there waiting for your child for whenever he or she is ready.

The Hooked on Spelling program will teach your child basic spelling skills. Although spelling lessons are not included in the Learn to Read program, leading research shows that phonics instruction has been shown to improve spelling skills.

Both the App + Practice Packs and Learn to Read Boxed Kits start at the Pre-Reader level, introducing letter names and letter sounds as a foundation for reading, so your child does not need to know their letter names or letter sounds to begin. Fun songs, simple stories and practice activities will solidify your child’s skills around recognizing letters and their sounds as they master the alphabet.

If your child is between the ages of 3 and 8 and reading below a 3rd grade reading level, he should be ready to use this program, either to get ahead in his learning or to improve his reading skills.
